And So Its Come to This........... a Blog

Why bother with creative original content when one can post the minutiae of a numbingly average life?

Well, I'm going to a costume party in Castleton Hall and I was invited last minute, so I grabbed an old work sweater from the greyhound park and I'm going as a pari-mutuels clerk. Hurray!

I'm still swamped with work but I'm getting there, and I have a sore-throat/headache combo that is resistant to all forms of medication!

Anyway, happy Halloween everyone.

Well, my life is officially hectic. I am back at school for exactly a day and a half, then I'm gone again.

I got my Beta. His name is Elliot, named jointly after Mama Cass (she sang the kick-ass song that opened Lost season 2) and everybody's favorite alien befriender.

edit:
Also I bought a ton of CDs at the thrift store. For those who are curious here is the whole list (In alphabetical order) and asterisks indicate bands I had heard of before buying these CDs:

22 Brides - Beaker
764-Hero - Get Here and Stay
Dan Bern - Fifty Eggs
Chasing Furies - With Abandon
Cranes - Wings of Joy
Cubic Feet - Superconnector
Descendants - Milo Goes to College*
Dirt Merchants - Scarified*
Eric's Trip - Love Tara*
The Firebird Project - Feel Alright
Free Kitten - Nice Ass
H the Band (or Jon Hindmarsh) - Junkyard
Heavens to Betsy - Calculated
Number One Cup - Wrecked By Lions
Oasis - The Masterplan*
On - Shifting Skin
Quarashi - Selling Ice To Greenland (Promo EP)*
Retsin - Egg Fusion
Sick Bees - On The One
Six Volt Sunbeam - Sur La Table (Promo)
Sleater-Kinney - All Hands On The Bad One*

Springhouse - Poscards From the Arctic
Sugar - A Good Idea (Single)*
Sugar - Beaster*
Sugar - File Under Easy Listening*
Swearing At Motorists - Number Seven Uptown
Throwing Muses - The Real Ramona*

Fun facts about these CDs: Dan Bern's was produced by Ani DiFranco, Chasing Furies is Christian rock, the Descendents album cover looks like a primitive Dilbert, Eric's Trip was named after the Sonic Youth song, Free Kitty was a band that Kim Gordon (bassist of Sonic Youth) created for experimenting, The H album is named after a pet rabbit, Heavens to Betsy was the band that once broken up eventually morphed into Sleater-Kinney, Sick Bees is annoying feminist "music", Six Volt Sunbeam according to Google does not exist, Sugar was formed by Husker Du singer Bob Mould, aaaaaaaaand finally Throwing Muses is where Tanya Donelly began with music, eventually joining the Breeders and forming Belly. Her newest solo album (released today) was recorded this summer in the Windham Hotel in Bellows Falls.

Hurray for listening to music and forgetting about everything.

edit2: sorry about giant text.
